Today's Sunday Times ran some articles about rich Chinese splurging in Singapore. This got some people worried that one day, Singaporeans will be priced out of Singapore.
For a start, I have been hearing of Singapore Inc. for as long as I can remember. What is important is to follow the trend set by the govt. What is the latest trend? Service industry, & education. How to follow?
Re-train to enter the service industry - retail, F&B, tourism, become a taxi driver, tour bus driver, etc. etc. Those higher qualified, may want to consider a career as lecturer, industry trainer, & so on... a lot of private colleges setting up base in Singapore.
Own a piece of Singapore blue chips - Singtel, ST Group of companies, Sembcorp Gp of companies....those paying dividends. It is more rewarding than keeping money in the bank.
